EU policies

New issues come up every day – and every day we miss an opportunity to run the EU rationally.

I wouldn’t say that we only have issues which can be neatly apportioned between populists on one side and bureaucrats on the other. I think that there are different visions of issues facing the EU and they should be studied and discussed rationally, to arrive at joint policies which all countries can apply, even if with a modicum of local flexibility. What I am sure of is that we can’t run one of the biggest economies and powers in the world by extinguishing fires and lurching from one crisis to the next instead of rational planning and intelligent common legislation.
